Description
The Weekly Laxmi Puja, performed every Thursday, is a traditional Hindu ritual dedicated to Goddess Lakshmi — the goddess of wealth, fortune, and prosperity. This simple yet powerful worship is observed in homes to maintain positivity, purity, and abundance throughout the week.
Devotees prepare for the puja with essential items such as a picture or idol of Goddess Lakshmi, a decorated chowki covered with red cloth, Ganga water, a kalash with mango leaves and coconut, flowers (especially lotus and marigold), rice, milk, sugar, honey, fruits, sweets, incense sticks, lamps, sandalwood paste, kumkum, and turmeric. During the puja, devotees offer flowers, light lamps, chant mantras, and present bhog (offerings of food) to the goddess.
Worshipping Goddess Lakshmi every Thursday helps remove financial obstacles, brings stability, and fills the home with peace and divine grace. It symbolizes purity, devotion, and the continuous flow of wealth and happiness in family life.
